Amber Grant is from Salem, Massachusetts and spent five years near Pinehurst, North Carolina before attending UNC. She took a gap year through the Global Gap Year Fellowship in 2021-2022. During her gap year, Amber traveled much of the Western United States. Amber volunteered on the Cheyenne River Reservation in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, and at an elderly recreation center in Yankton, South Dakota. At UNC, Amber studies biology with aspirations to attend a graduate program in genetic counseling. Amber is passionate about social advocacy and diversity, especially as it pertains to STEM.
