Nancy Alvarez Lopez is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She took a gap year through the Global Gap Year Fellowship in 2021-2022. During her gap year, she traveled to Arizona and Spain. Nancy volunteered at an Exotic Animal Hospital located in Phoenix, AZ and she volunteered as a bilingual interpreter at a pharmacy/clinic located in Raleigh, NC. At UNC, Nancy is a Political Science Major with a minor in Social and Economic Justice.
