Liam is a first-year student from High Point, North Carolina. During his gap year, he spent nine months in Rabat, Morocco where he had three service placements. He worked at a community center where he helped with youth and environmental programs. He was also an assistant English teacher at an afterschool center, and a member of a youth media and development collective. In his free time, he enjoyed walking by the ocean, surfing, singing at open mic nights, and exploring new neighborhoods. At UNC, Liam studies Global Studies, Arabic, and Spanish. He is a member of the Arabic Debate Club, Mutakalimeen Arabic Conversation Club, and Tarpeggios Mixed-voice A Capella group. He is passionate about engaging with a diverse range of students through GGYF so that they can have transformative experiences abroad like he did.
