Amanda is a 2023-2024 Global Gap Year Fellow studying philosophy and anthropology. During her gap year, she interned in San Diego with Words Alive, a literary non-profit focused on developing programs that inspire life-long readers through reading, and tutored with the Barrio Logan College Institute. In the second half of the year, she was a judicial intern in the Fulton County Juvenile Court, where she worked with the Assistant District Attorney’s office to speak to students about philosophy and the value of an education. During her gap year, she also traveled through Europe and South America, deepening her love of art and photography. At Carolina, she is involved with the Parr Center for Ethics, the Black Student Movement, and the Carolina Film Association. Her favorite part about working in the Global Office is getting travel advice from her fellow former Gappers.
