Viktoria Alston of Havelock, North Carolina, spent her gap year in Peru, Ecuador, Belize, Mexico, Japan, and Malaysia. During her gap year, Viktoria taught Spanish, English, and math through Hija Rojo and Collegio Escriba, She is currently a global studies major with a Spanish minor and is involved with ENRICH ELL, a campus organization focused on promoting opportunities through English literacy. Viktoria hopes to have more global experiences and to be able to continue teaching English to language learners. Her gap year has also influenced her decision to find a career in which she is able to work with people and help improve their lives.

Viktoria graduated from Havelock High School, where she was involved with JROTC and band and participated in the Spanish Club, Interact Club and National Honor Society. Viktoria was also vice-chair and co-chair of the Havelock Youth Advisory Committee.
