Shelby Watson of Collettsville graduated from West Caldwell High School, where she was co-president of Beta Club, a student council representative and played right field on the softball team. She has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys serving others, including a semester long internship at Tuttle Educational State Forest.

During her gap year, Shelby volunteered in Cape Town, South Africa and Mukono, Uganda. In South Africa, Shelby worked with Extreme Response International where she helped students with homework and other after-school care services. In Uganda, she worked with PUR International to create gardens and produce for the local school. Shelby is currently studying anthropology and has hopes of becoming a doula.
