Rhenna Hatton is from Charlotte, NC. She is a Bridge Year Fellow in which she is a current sophomore at UNC and will be taking her gap year between her sophomore and junior year. She is currently double majoring in Global Studies and Environmental Studies with a minor in Statistics. With that, she is able to continue studying French, and dive into the intersection of environmental and social justice one that balances environmental protection with economic viability and social equity. Rhenna hopes to one day marry the two ideas of environmental and social sovereignty by being able to provide self-sustaining energy systems to low-income communities. Rhenna has also worked as an RA while at Carolina and hopes to continue after her gap year. So far, Rhenna was able to travel to Estonia and volunteer with Estonian Green Movement-FoE that engages in environmental protection. Rhenna will then travel to Thailand to volunteer with an energy consulting organization, PXP Sustainability.
