Nathan Martin

Nathan Martin is a Gap Year Fellow from Danbury, North Caroline where he attended Stokes Early College. He is an Eagle Scout of Troop 412, a volunteer Defense Attorney for the Stokes County Teen Court, and an English graduate of the 2024 Governor’s School. Taking this Gap Year will be Nathan’s first time abroad, and he hopes to circumnavigate the globe. His first placement is in Portugal with PurposeFlow, cultivating and caring for a community garden. The second placement will be somewhere in Southeastern Asia, specifically Thailand, Vietnam, or New Zealand. Upon returning to UNC he hopes to study English and Comparative Literature with a focus in Creative Writing, then hoping to begin publishing novels and poetry.

Fun Fact: Nathan has published poetry, his first published piece of work ever.
