Mica Cole is originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, but she recently graduated from North Buncombe High School in Weaverville, NC. At North Buncombe, she was involved in soccer, swim team, and tennis, as well as student council, Beta Club, and mentorship programs. Outside of school, she enjoyed fostering animals and volunteering at a local animal shelter. Additionally, she worked at a local grocery store and nannied for several families. Her favorite things include Barnes & Noble visits with her friends, discovering new music, and finding the perfect pair of jeans.

During her gap year, Mica is eager to explore fashion sustainability and sourcing. As a fashion enthusiast, she believes it is crucial to understand every aspect of the production chain in clothing. She will begin her journey with Fashion Revolution Cyprus for her first placement, where she is excited to learn how the local community addresses overconsumption and the loss of tradition in textiles. For her second placement, Mica hopes to travel to Asia, where she plans to find a Workaway opportunity that will allow her to connect with the local community and gain new skills. After her gap year, she plans to study Business Management and Marketing at UNC.
