Michael Howell, Class of 2017, Brazil

I spent my last month trying to take advantage of whatever experiences remained. I started working with the youngest students at the school on a project about snow and realized how appreciative and loving they were. I went to a Hooters, ate the spiciest hot wings of my life, and got to see my friends cover their faces in embarrassment for the girls’ skimpy outfits, a reaction that appears to transcend culture. I made my way to Avenida Paulista and perused the many shops lining both sides of the street while taking in the big city atmosphere, learning the true definition of pollution, and walking at light speed, as true Paulistanos do.
