I am a little under a week out and everything is starting to feel very real. The details are finally all figured out and I feel like I can finally relax! I am looking forward to meeting all of the people I will be working with and I am also looking forward to having an extreme change of scenery. I stop in Edinburgh on my way to Nicosia and I am beyond excited to finally see my sister and to see the UK for the first time. I am finally starting to realize how much I am going to miss my friends and family as I say my final goodbyes, but I am also very excited for the independence and freedom I am going to have! I am thankful that I am able to enjoy a small bit of the fall weather before I enjoy summer weather for the rest of the year. Overall, this planning process has been very stressful and eye opening so I am very relieved to finally see it paying off. I will join the social media team for Fashion Revolution after I arrive and I am very interested to see what that will entail; I will also take some classes and training about fashion sustainability starting at the end of September to help prepare me for my year. I can’t wait to depart and start my gap year! -Mica!
