After much anticipation, September 2nd is here, and I’m getting ready to leave my family and the country I’ve always known. Traveling has always felt like a dream to me, and whenever I’ve thought about it, the first word that comes to mind is excitement. But, funny enough, as I sit here waiting for my flight to Spain, I’m feeling a mix of emotions.

I’m super excited to work with children and the elderly while I’m there. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m also looking forward to experiencing a culture that I’ve always been curious about. Being immersed in a different country, I believe, will help me grow more tolerant and give me a new perspective on the world.

I’m eager to meet new people, make some Spanish friends, and hopefully go on some fun activities and day trips together. But, to be honest, I’m also a bit nervous. The uncertainty of what’s next is a little scary, but I’m hopeful that everything will work out. So, here I am, at the gate, waiting for my flight to Spain. Let’s see what this adventure brings!

Lots of love,

Xavier Lopez
